Innocent Hands

My God is an awesome God. What does that mean, ‘awesome‘? It is a word that is commonplace in the vocabulary of so many English-speaking people.

So, that only really told us that God inspires awe. What is ‘awe’?

Yahweh strikes me with this wonder and admiration. I look to my hands, who can do so little; they form not universes nor can they form the simplest speck of earth. I am nothing but powerless in contrast to my Might Creator. That is all I am, a creation: a thing bound by the law and nature created for me. There is no creation mightier then it’s creator.

I am so pitiful and small in His sight yet He loves me. For all that I am, He loves me. In this short span of life I have done so many bad things, chosen so many bad paths and yet He helps me carry all the baggage. He rids my burdens and gives me but simple tasks instead. I want to glorify His name, to praise and bring reputation.

For His household I have been bought, a price of blood was paid and a burden of pain. Such works deserve nothing my blood, my life, in compensation yet I am so small. How could I ever be worth anything, much less sufferance and a death befit the lowliest of men?

Though all that I am, how much pain I have caused others and the evil I am responsible for, I have been washed clean. I am adorned with robes and jewelery; Grace and wisdom. I am a royal priestess, a beautiful temple, a princess in the house of the Lord.
